You 13 peeps who regularly read this weekly feature (❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎ ) will come to love its new look.

So help me blob.

Let's talk about 10 good shows happening in NYC this week!

Welcome to Costco -------> I Luv U.

1. San Marcos' This Will Destroy You (the post rock always rings twice) celebrate the 10th birthdays of two of their albums, “Young Mountain" and the cryptically titled “This Will Destroy You" on Monday at Bowery Ballroom. You can lift yer skinny fists to heaven at this one (yeah I know that's a different band but u can still do it).

Also. What was 2006 even LIKE, man??????

2. New York, New York's Mitski headlines Webster Hall on Monday (w/ Fear of Men & Weaves). Mitski rules. Which may explain why this show is totally sold-out….. and so is her (much smaller) show on Tuesday at Villain (moved from Market Hotel).

Can't get in to either? Sorry. I didn't do it. I just blob here.

3. Camden England England's The Japanese House play Baby's All Right on Tuesday and Wednesday. Oh My Rockness says, “This is dream pop with blissed out beats and warm synths and glittering guitars providing the intense melodic uplift" and if there's nothing I enjoy more than quoting me back to me.

4. Montreal's King Khan & BBQ Show play Bowery Ballroom on Tuesday and they're probably the best doo wop punk band in Canada right now. Please note: if any of the 13 of you reading this are Canadian and know of some other doo wop punk band from your hood who's better please let me know in the comments section this blob has never had and I'll correct my preposterous claim immediately. Not a bad deal, eh?

5. Oh My Haw's Conor Oberst plays Carnegie Hall on Wednesday and he makes this esteemed list (same great content! -- thrilling new format!) because all that practice practice practice (pretty sure he's been in bands since he was in the womb) made him good good good.

6. London's Thurston Moore (yes, he moved there) and the Isle of Manna-hatta's John Zorn collaborate on Wednesday at Rough Trade.

Bring earplugs and nobody gets hurt.

7. Portlandia's STRFKR play Music Hall of Williamsburg on Friday and Webster Hall on Saturday. And honestly? This band just wants have fun.

Please now enjoy streaming this hot new cover they released just seven short years ago.

8. Strong Island's Iron Chic headline Wild Fest at Brooklyn Night Bazaar on Saturday and if I've said it once I've said it a thousand times on this thing (same great content! - thrilling new format!)…..Iron Chic is one of the funnest live bands to see on the planet…... period….. lots of them…..

9. Phila's The Menzingers play Knitting Factory on Saturday too so you're going to have to make a tough judgement call here. If you decide to go to Iron Chic or something else instead, that's cool, just gimme a call whenever you decide you don't wanna be an asshole anymore.

10. Baltimo's John Waters does “A John Waters Christmas" at City Winery on Sunday and he is the simply the coolest chillest dude. If there are two guys I would want to eat a burrito with John Waters just might be one of them (Michael Jordan would be the other probably - the three of us would get along really great I think).

Other notable shows in NYC this week = Nobunny at Shea Stadium + The Sounds at Warsaw and Irving Plaza + Ween at The Capitol Theatre + Pictureplane at Trans-Pecos
