Let's talk about some good shows happening in NYC this weekend.

Because there are a bunch of them.

You're gonna like the way this feature fills up your procrastination time.

So help me blob.

Thursday - November 10, 2016 A.D.

The Julie Ruin is Carmine Covelli, Sara Landeau, Kathleen Hanna, Kathi Wilcox and Kenny Mellman and they play Irving Plaza tonight.

Please note: The Julie Ruin rule.

Digable Planets play Webster Hall.

But

I'm cool like dat

I'm cool, I'm cool

And

I'm chill like dat

I'm chill, I'm chill

And

I'm peace like dat

I'm Peace

We jazz like dat

We freak like dat

We zoom like dat

We out, we out

Jesu & Sun Kil Moon are co-headliners at Warsaw.

P.S. Mark Kozelek seems like a really cool guy. Just kidding!

Post ___ No Wave ____ legend James Chance (& the Contortions) play The Bowery Electric and I fully expect everyone will act like adults and contort themselves in a respectable manner at this one.

Contort yourself!

Other notable Thursday shows = Slow Club at (le) poisson rouge + !!! at Union Pool + Savoy Motel at The Studio at Webster Hall + Weyes Blood at The Park Church Co-Op + The Men at Trans-Pecos

Friday - November 11, 2016 A.D.

YEAH I DON'T MIIIIIIIIINNND STEALIN' BREAAAAAADDDDDD!!!

Who keeps SAYING that???

But anyway, Friday...

San Francisco post ____ garage rockers Thee Oh Sees play Bowery Ballroom tonight & tomorrow (and Sunday at Warsaw).

Best band currently existing in this dimension, man.

The Thermals (my favorite power indie punk pop band --- did I say that right?) play Brooklyn Night Bazaar tonight (and tomorrow).

"Hardly art! Hardly starving! Hardly art! Hardly garbage!"

Please note: The Thermals song I just referenced and love is somehow now 13 years old.... I just checked.

How Bazaar…. How Bazaar.

Forth Wanderers play Shea Stadium and you might wanna get in on the ground floor of this goodness because this band is going to be huge. You heard it here FIRST……. ok maybe second…. definitely at least the third blob to tell you this band is about to blow up.

Forth Wanderers foreva!!!!!

FIDLAR play Terminal 5. This is a popular one and if you don't already have tickets and still want to go you can try to show up at the venue and see what's possible but I can't guarantee you'll be able get in. I just blob here. But go ahead and try. Why not. \

Fuck it, dog, life's a risk.

Other notable Friday shows = Savoy Motel at Union Pool + Patio at The Meat Shop + El Perro Del Mar at Baby's All Right

Saturday - November 12, 2016 A.D.

Seu Jorge plays "A Life Aquatic: A Tribute To David Bowie" at Town Hall (one of three dates this week). He's so good. Guess that explains why these shows have long since sold-out. Sorry. I didn't do it. I just blob here.

(If you missed out on tickets just listen to David Bowie in a quiet dark place and you'll get over the disappointment soon enough.)

*also did u ever notice how Wes Anderson movies are kind of like storybookzzzzz

Body/Head is Kim Gordon and Bill Nace and they play National Sawdust tonight.

Please note: Body/Head rules.

And I already told you Thee Oh Sees were playing Bowery Ballroom tonight, right?

OK, cool. Just checking!

Pet Shop Boys play The Theatre at Madison Square Garden. Please note: in a mere five days the Swet Shop Boys will be in town to play some shows too. Now, if we can somehow convince the Pet Shop Boys to do a layover and could connect the two groups to work on something together we could be looking at the greatest collaboration of Shop Boys bands OF ALL TIME. Think about it. Will you think about it? Shh. Say no more. That's a deal.

You're totally not going to see Pet Shop Boys this week, are you.

That's cool. I understand.

Other notable Saturday shows = The Thermals at Brooklyn Night Bazaar + The Naked and Famous at Hammerstein Ballroom + Helmet at Highline Ballroom + Ghost at Kings Theatre + El Ten Eleven at Music Hall of Williamsburg + Jagwar Ma at Webster Hall + The Sonics at Warsaw + Rhys Chatham / Oneida at The Park Church Co-Op

MMMMMMMMM I DON'T MINDDDDDDDDDDDD

YEAHHHHH I DON'T MINDDDDDD

STEALINNNNNNNNN

BREEEEEEEEEADDDDDDDDD

Sunday - November 13, 2016 A.D.

Frankie Cosmos play Webster Hall. On a related note, do you know which band is super good? Wait wait don't answer I'll just tell you! Frankie Cosmos! Frankie Cosmos is a super good band!

I told you Thee Oh Sees are playing Warsaw tonight? OK, cool. That would've been embarrassing if I forgot to mention a show from the best band currently existing in this dimension.

Helmet play Music Hall of Williamsburg. Let's end this SICK feature with a HUGE slimy jam that still shreds like a __________.*

*I don't swear on Sundays….... or exercise....or call my mom.

Other notable Sunday shows = Closing night of Manhattan Inn with Kaki King, Delicate Steve, TEEN, Tigue and more!
