Written by Patrick McNamara

Let's talk about some good shows happening in NYC this week.

And let's have a good goddamn time doing so.

Monday - September 26, 2016 A.D.

Hamilton Leithauser (The Walkmen) and Rostam (Vampire Weekend) team up to sing some totally boss songs together at Rough Trade tonight. (SHOW INFO // TICKETS)

*both The Walkmen and Vampire Weekend w/ Rostam will be back together by mid 2017. Bet.

Danish electronic dude Trentemøller plays (le) poisson rouge. According to Wikipedia, Trentemøller composed the theme to AMC's “Halt and Catch Fire," a show I've never seen but have heard good things about from very reputable sources (my delivery guy, Steve). (SHOW INFO // TICKETS)

Dude, you're getting Adele. (SHOW INFO // TICKETS)

Metallica play Webster Hall tonight. But calm down. It's one of those bullshit "enter to maybe win the right to buy tickets" contest things. You're not getting in. (SHOW INFO // TICKETS)

But if it makes you feel any better Metallica is no longer a good band.

Beach Slang is one of the bossest punk bands in the land. The Pennsylvanianianans (sp?) play TWO shows at Rough Trade tonight: the first one at 6:30 is free and the one at 8:00 is not. (SHOW INFO // TICKETS)

(but the show one comes with Chris Gethard's Smiths cover band as the opener)

Jeff the Brotherhood play Market Hotel and I'm pretty sure it's impossible to have a bad time when these two Nashville dudes (they're really brothers! w0w! MINT! R@RE!) get up there and sweat/shred the f*#k out. (SHOW INFO // TICKETS)

(unless you don't like the rock or the roll in which case you will have a very bad time stay away stay far far away from this one)

And Lola Kirke plays Baby's All Right. (SHOW INFO // TICKETS)

That's right. From Holly Wood!
