((Rilo Kiley)) Band Profile and Upcoming New York City Concerts - Oh My Rockness

Fronted by the woman (Jenny Lewis) who sings all the pretty background vocals in The Postal Service, Los Angeles' Rilo Kiley have executed close to perfect pop since 1998. With previous releases on Bright Eyes' Saddle Creek label and Death Cab's Barsuk, they are now on a Warner Bros. offshoot -- just further evidence that the rest of the world has finally caught up to their irresistible hooks.

Rilo Kiley have recently moved away from their early alt-rock leanings to concentrate on the flavor of sweet, sweet sugar. Lewis' pure, crisp voice is clearly the centerpiece and main attraction. A true songbird, she sings effortlessly and flawlessly. It's no wonder Ben Gibbard asked her to be in his mail order side project. He knows Lewis is one of the few whose voice can match his own.
