((Double Dagger)) Band Profile and Upcoming New York City Concerts - Oh My Rockness

Dag, these guys take me back to 1995. Baltimore's Double Dagger is a trio that's bringing it back to indie rock's angsty golden age. This band's jams are from the age of SLAY.

The age of Shellac + The Van Pelt + June of 44 + Dischord + Touch & Go + Quarterstick. The age when indie rock meant music that was angular and raw and melodically punk and stuff.

The age when bands just ROCKED OUT.

There weren't too many electro-synth solos back in 1995 (not that there's anything wrong with electro-synth solos... they're just not from the golden age of SLAY). And you won't find any electro-ness in Double Daggers repertoire either... except for their razor sharp electric guitars.

If you're anywhere between the ages of 30 and 40, you'll wax nostalgic when you hear these Double Dagger blasts. I guarantee it. Double Dagger's album is out now on Thrill Jockey (which is a totally appropriate label... they had a few things to do with the golden age of SLAY too).
